On Tuesday, September 19th a special day to celebrate Babe Ruth will be held in Toronto to commemorate Ruth's first pro home run. That home run occurred at Hanlan's Point on September 5th, 1914 when Ruth was a minor leaguer with the 'AAA' Providence Grays. This was his only minor-league home run. A plaque commemorating the event will be unveiled by Heritage Toronto and joining in the festivities will be Toronto Blue Jays President and CEO Paul Godfrey, Babe Ruth's grandson Tom Stevens, and such supporters as Labatt's, The Fan 590 Radio, and the Society for American Baseball Research. That evening Tom Stevens will throw out the game ball at the Rogers Centre in the game between the Blue Jays and New York Yankees.
